I also think it's pretty funny that pro-slavery people used the same argument that homophobes are using today: that abolitionists and pro-gay right peoples are aiming to destroy the families of America.
Nope, sorry, but you're doing a good enough job of that already. Just listen to loveline, where nearly every other call is about physical or sexual abuse by the parents/brothers/cousins.

In South Africa, they destroy blood donated by blacks and gays because they say that it's "high risk".
In the Netherlands, they are trying to ban woman wearing burqa's in public. Not cool. Now, I don't agree that women should be forced to cover themselves, but for many of them, it's their choice. It's their profession of faith. That's like saying that nuns can't wear their habits in public! Insane-ness.
In Africa, it's a tradition to have young children come work as maids. Can we say slavery, anyone?

Whale sharks are becoming endangered. Goddamit people, we have got to learn to leave animals alone. Pretty much the only animals that don't die when humans are around are rats, cats, dogs and gerbils. So leave the other ones alone.
People referring to Brokeback Mountain as the "gay cowboy movie". That's like calling the universe a mess of stuff. No. It's cooler than that. It's much more complex than that. And seriously, it takes only TWO letters more to type Brokeback Mountain, not counting the spaces, and less syllables to say. People=teh dumb.
And then the usual stuff that has me pissed off: ineqaulity, starvation, and the lack of world peace.
